Colby Covington Asegura Que Noqueó A Jorge Masvidal Durante Un Sparring: “Soy El Padre De Jorge Masvidal”

Jorge Masvidal viene de una clara derrota por decisión unánime a manos del campeón de peso wélter del UFC, Kamaru Usman, en el UFC 251 del pasado fin de semana. A pesar de que Jorge no tuvo éxito en su intento de convertirse en el nuevo monarca de las 170 libras, esta derrota puede ser la puerta por una super pelea ante Colby Covington.

Covington - quien también viene de haber sido vencido por Usman en lo que fue una de las mejores peleas de 2019 (UFC 245) - está consciente de que su próximo combate quizá sea ante Masvidal. Y como era de esperarse, Covington ya empezó a avivar el fuego al hablar algo de basura acerca de Jorge. Covington estuvo presente en una reciente entrega de Submission Radio, en donde aseguró que él noqueó a Jorge cuando ambos eran compañeros de entrenamiento (vía MMANews):

Colby Covington: "No tiene oportunidad para durar cinco rounds conmigo, y en el fondo él sabe que poseo un nivel distinto al de Marty Fakenewsman. Muy en lo profundo él lo sabe. Por eso es que no va a entrar en el Octágono conmigo. La última vez que entrenamos, él terminó noqueado con una patada alta. Fingí un derribo, (y luego fui) arriba. Él sabe quién es su papi. Soy el padre de Jorge Masvidal. Aquel es mi hijo. Soy el rey de Miami. Soy el rey de Miami y cualquiera puede venir a (intentar) reclamarlo. No voy a elegir peleas fáciles ni intentaré decir con quién pelearé, aceptaré a cualquiera porque soy el mejor del mundo y eso es lo que el mejor del mundo hace".

(Texto en inglés): "He has no chance to last five rounds with me, and he knows that deep down inside that I have a different level to my game than Marty Fakenewsman. He knows that deep down inside. That's why he's not gonna step in the octagon with me. Last time we trained, he got knocked out unconscious with a high kick. I faked a takedown, came up. So, he knows who his Daddy is. I'm Jorge Masvidal's father. That is my son. I'm the King of Miami. I'm Miami's King, and anybody can come get it. I ain't gonna pick and choose easy fights and try and say who I'm gonna fight, I'm gonna take anybody, cause I'm the best in the world and that's what the best in the world does."
